General Contracting

Since 1939, C. H. Nickerson & Company, Inc. has provided general contracting services to a wide variety of public and private clients throughout the Northeast. The company has an extensive history of successful performance in many markets including environmental, municipal, commercial, institutional, and industrial construction. As a self-performing general contractor, Nickerson is equipped to take on the most challenging and demanding projects, typically performing over 50% of the project activities with our own workforces.

Environmental Contracting

In the 1950s C.H. Nickerson began to specialize in the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities.  Over the subsequent decades Nickerson has become a recognized leader in environmental contracting throughout the Northeast, typically performing $100 – $120 million of water and wastewater work every year.  Since 2003 Nickerson has made ENR’s list of the top 25 environmental firms in the nation twice and consistently ranks within the top 100.

Special Projects Group

Nickerson’s Special Projects group was created to service clients for small, short duration projects which require alternative project management approaches and specialized craft strategies. Project costs for the majority of these jobs are typically less than $5 million. These projects include pump stations, small plant upgrades, package plant installations and service work for existing environmental, municipal, and industrial facilities.
